A fantastic opportunity is now available for an experienced Scrub Nurse (RN Adult) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join the team at a leading Coventry hospital for elective healthcare services as Surgical First Assistant.
The hospital, rated “Good” in all categories by the CQC, has 3 laminar-flow theatres (one accommodating robotic-assisted replacement surgeries), a JAG-accredited endoscopy suite, and enhanced on-site services for diagnostic radiology, pharmacy care and physical rehabilitation. Patients can be assured of excellent and thorough care before, during, and after their procedures across a broad range of clinical specialties, from ophthalmic and ENT surgeries down to orthopaedic interventions for the ankles and feet.
As Surgical First Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of a strong MDT, providing direct continuous assistance to the Operating Surgeon within an upgraded theatre environment and ensuring the best quality of perioperative care possible – whether for a day case or a longer and more complex surgery. This is a permanent, full-time (37.5h) role for a Surgical First Assistant. The Operating Department is open 7am-5pm, Mon-Sat, so flexibility can be offered with your shift pattern.
Person specification:
- (Essential) Registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Adult) or with the HCPC as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
- (Essential) Previous Scrub Practitioner experience, encompassing orthopaedic scrub.
- (Essential) An accredited Surgical First Assistant qualification.
